We're seeking a proven leader to head and expand our Municipal Wastewater Practice in Denver, Colorado. Our Denver Water Team is a dynamic group of 65 professionals dedicated to water and wastewater projects for municipal and industrial clients - spanning treatment, distribution, and collection systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering or related degree from accredited program required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of related professional experience in design and/or project management required (a technical master's degree could substitute one year of experience)
  • Previous leadership and/or management experience is preferable.
  • Experience must include managing a wide variety of wastewater treatment engineering projects strongly preferred.
  • A Registered Professional Engineer strongly preferred.
  • Must possess strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.
  • Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage change.
  • Demonstrated supervision skills and personnel management skills to review work assignments and performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
  • An established network of contacts in the Rocky Mountain region and demonstrated business development capabilities strongly preferred.
  • Must be expert in use of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform business development for the Denver wastewater treatment department.
  • Provide for growth of the department including recruitment, development and retention of staff.
  • Own the performance management process for staff and conduct annual performance appraisals.
  • Serve as the technical advisor providing senior-level input and evaluation on projects in the region.
  • Organize projects and their proper staffing to assure guidelines for their successful execution are followed per company guidelines and standards.
  • Monitor and manage the allocation of staff resources in order to meet or exceed time chargeability goals.
  • Monitor financials for wastewater treatment projects with a focus on maintaining profitability through established metrics.
  • Participate in annual business planning process.
  • Meet sales and profitability goals to be established through annual business planning.
  • Work with other Water Practice department managers to form a cohesive group with regards to staff utilization, project execution, and overall synergy.
  • Advocating for safety within the group.
