About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring all store deli cases remain stocked and clean during business hours. Assists customers and co-workers as instructed by supervisors. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Grocery Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works safely and promotes safety at all times and follows all established safety guidelines and procedures. Maintain processes and procedures to be followed by employees in order to meet sanitary, Health Department, safety, security, Weights and Measure, and OSHA requirements Serves as the department’s primary operational and technical trainer. Develops and implements department operational goals and objectives; participates in the business planning and goal setting process. Controls inventory orders or supervises ordering of all service deli, merchandise, maintains ample amounts and variety of products for the department. Takes periodic inventory counts as pre-determined by company practices or the Store Director. Achieves department contribution goals for the departments, including profit margin and labor costs. Monitors and maintains cleanliness and organization of dairy, deli frozen department. Manages the stocking and maintenance of deli cases to ensure adequate presentation of product, good selection/variety, and correct pricing and product dating to maintain appropriate rotation of deli goods. Ensures prompt assistance is provided to customers and that staff is offering advice on selection, and storage of deli products. Manages the cleaning of deli cases; to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all deli cases and storage coolers. Monitors and maintains deli department merchandising displays and signage. Monitors and maintains cleanliness and organization of deli department. Walks deli department regularly to ensure an organized and clean appearance at all times. Must follow all sanitation guidelines. Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings. Performs other duties as requested or required by management.

Requirements

  • Has three years’ experience in a retail food service operation, at least one year as manager.
  • Demonstrated interest and knowledge in food products and preparation techniques Reliable, dependable, organized.
  • Possesses efficient, organized work habits. Is consistently detail minded in the performance of day to day activities and has the ability to follow directions.
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to identify potential situations and respond appropriately
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Dexterity in hands to wrap and package product
