About The Position

The Department Manager for Dairy at Publix is responsible for planning and maintaining production processes within the dairy production department. This role ensures food quality and safety, oversees associate safety, and focuses on continuous improvement in productivity. The manager will also develop, train, and mentor associates while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Three years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
• Two years of leadership experience or equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
• Strong managerial and leadership skills.
• Willingness to work a variable schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Ability to be on call 24/7.
• Strong communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Outlook, Word).
• Ability to demonstrate detailed organization and follow through.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field or its equivalent.
• 3 years of Publix Manufacturing management experience.
• SQF Certification.
• HACCP Certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain production processes within the dairy production department.
• Ensure food quality and safety, including compliance with HACCP, SQF, and GMPs.
• Ensure associate safety by complying with OSHA regulations.
• Develop, train, and mentor production department associates.
• Participate in the interview and selection process for new associates.
• Administer training on Publix, Manufacturing, and plant policies.
• Provide direction and motivation to associates to build morale.
• Evaluate performance and verify results of associates.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities to enhance productivity.
