About The Position

Department Lead is responsible for ensuring that production scheduled is completed on time and delegates task assignments to department personnel for receiving, the overhaul, repair, or alternation of articles maintained in accordance with FAA, OEM procedures. The Department Lead will also participate and assist in the hiring process, performance management, time keeping, and training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years previous experience as Final Inspector/Sr Technician or 3 years Final Inspector/Sr Technician AND a Repairman’s Certificate or hold A&P license
  • Two years previous experience supervising others
  • Solid technical knowledge of overhauling assemblies
  • Excellent knowledge of HRD’s processes and equipment functions
  • Able to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to read manuals and blue prints
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and multitask multiple projects
  • Able to perform basic math functions
  • Able to lead and motivate others to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Delegate work assignments from Department Manager and coordinate task assignments and coordinate workload to meet production goals effectively.
  • Monitor employee work levels and review work performance.
  • Assist and monitor assigned staff in the proper handling of all articles and the proper use of all approved technical data while in receiving, disassembly, segregation, cleaning, reassemble, and serving processes.
  • Ensure technicians/clerks have the proper and sufficient tooling to perform tasks.
  • Assist Department Manager with training and ensure sufficient personnel are available for the completion of daily scheduled maintenance and/or production requirements.
  • Support and recognize system advances, assist with writing procedures to support lean systems, and quality process improvements.
  • Monitor technicians/clerks for keeping their work areas clean and organized and follow company procedures.
  • Participate in the interview and selection process for hiring new technicians.
  • Participate in the performance management process.
  • Review and approve technician timesheets for payroll processing.
  • Responsible that all shop equipment, tools and equipment is in serviceable condition and properly used.
  • Responsible for tool process & tool inventory adherence as applicable.
  • Assist department manager with Quality and technical responses.
