About The Position

The Department Lead - Digital Press & Finishing works in close partnership with the Production Supervisor to support daily operations of digital press and converting equipment, including digital presses and Digicon/Digilite finishing equipment. This role serves as a key support to the Supervisor by helping coordinate workflow, guide team members, and ensure production, quality, and safety standards are consistently achieved. The Department Lead is a working lead who actively operates equipment while assisting in driving productivity, minimizing waste, and maintaining a high level of team performance, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in digital printing and/or finishing/converting operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate digital presses and/or Digicon/Digilite equipment.
  • Previous experience in a lead or senior operator role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of print processes, color management, and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret job orders, production specifications, and work instructions.
  • Basic math and computer skills, including experience with print management systems.
  • English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate digital press and/or finishing equipment to produce quality products in accordance with production specifications, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Coordinate and support daily workflow and production activities in partnership with the Production Supervisor.
  • Ensure product quality and compliance with specifications through inspection and adherence to quality standards.
  • Support team performance by providing guidance, training, and communication with operators.
  • Maintain safe work practices and ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures.
  • Identify and support improvements in efficiency, waste reduction, and equipment performance.
  • Complete required production documentation and reporting accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and company initiatives as assigned.
  • Provide input on process improvements or equipment upgrades.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
