Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences invites applications for an inspiring leader to serve as Head of the Department of Music and Performing Arts. The Department offers the Bachelor of Music degree with concentrations in music education, music performance, and jazz studies as well as minors in Music and Dance and Contemporary Choreography. At the graduate level, we offer the Master of Music in Performance. The Department prepares professional performers and educators and serves as a center of art and culture for Hammond and the Northshore. The Department Head is the chief academic and administrative officer of the department, serving a 12-month appointment and reporting to the Dean. The position carries both administrative and faculty responsibilities, including teaching, research/creative activity, and service appropriate to the scope of the department.
