The Kinesiology Department in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a tenured department Chair position. The Chair of the Department of Kinesiology is appointed by the Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Innovation ( CONHI ) and is accountable to the Dean. The roles and functions of the Chair, Department of Kinesiology include provision of leadership in the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the Department of Kinesiology and collaboration with other departments in the advancement of college priorities. The Chair is responsible for the leadership and guidance to all Kinesiology faculty by designing and executing a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that department operations are effective and efficient, department assets are safeguarded, department financial information is reliable, and the department complies with college and university policies as well as applicable laws and regulations. In accordance with USCIS regulations, successful applicants must be legally able to accept work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. The Department is comprised of three undergraduate programs, which includes a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science program with tracks in Clinical & Applied Physiology, Health, Fitness & Wellness, and Motor & Rehabilitation Sciences, a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with tracks in Physical Education Teacher Education and Sport Leadership and Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. The department also has three master’s programs – a Master of Science in Exercise Science, a Master of Science in Athletic Training, and Master of Public Health, as well as a Ph.D. in Kinesiology. The Department of Kinesiology is an active member of the American Kinesiology Association ( AKA ) . Candidates must demonstrate active, externally funded research agendas, with a strong history of funded research and scholarly productivity.
