About The Position

The School of Applied Sciences, Department of Nutrition & Hospitality Management at The University of Mississippi, is seeking applications for Chair of Nutrition & Hospitality Management. This is a twelve-month, tenure-track position at the rank of associate or full professor as determined by research/scholarly publication records and academic achievements. The Chair will provide leadership and vision for the department, establishing and communicating departmental goals while fostering positive and collegial relationships among faculty, staff, and students. The role includes promoting excellence in teaching and scholarly activities, overseeing personnel administration, budgeting, departmental planning, and maintaining accreditation standards. Additional responsibilities include leading assessment initiatives, supporting development and fundraising efforts, managing sponsored program activities and agency outreach, and engaging alumni and other stakeholders. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to advance the department’s mission.

Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Nutrition/Dietetics, Human Nutrition, Hospitality Management, Hospitality Administration, or a related field.
  • Candidates must demonstrate administrative experience
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership skills
  • Candidates must have experience with accredited programs
  • Candidates must have a record of peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals
  • Candidates must have a proven record of excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate students.
