Binghamton University's College of Engineering invites nominations and applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). We seek a dynamic, visionary leader with a proven track record of excellence in research, education, and service. The ideal candidate will have the capacity to inspire and guide the department and its students in advancing its position as a global leader in ECE innovation. Reporting directly to the Dean of Engineering, the incoming Chair will have the opportunity to shape the future of the department, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, cultivate diverse talent, and advance innovative programs that address pressing global challenges. A key priority for the new Chair will be to develop and implement strategies to significantly increase graduate student enrollment, further strengthening the department's research output and academic reputation. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, faculty development, promoting cutting-edge research, securing external funding, building and strengthening collaboration with local industry, and enhancing the department's visibility and impact in both academia and industry. The candidate will also be responsible for the administration of the ECE Department, including management of the department budget, curriculum, and committees.
