About The Position

Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Ten years of teaching and research experience.
• Proven record of scholarship and ability to support a vibrant research program.
• Outstanding record of professional achievement.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Demonstrated academic leadership experience.
• Commitment to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion among faculty and students.
• Record of successful administrative experience managing personnel and budgets.

• Fundraising experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department by developing and advancing a compelling vision for its excellence in research, education, service, and impact.
• Work with CEAS and partners to execute and align the department's strategic plan with that of the college and campus.
• Sustain and expand the scholarly excellence of the department, aiming to be a leading program in the country.
• Foster and promote innovative undergraduate and graduate curricula and multidisciplinary research collaborations.
• Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, creating initiatives to support these principles.
• Serve as an engaged member of the dean's leadership team, contributing to the development of CEAS resources and direction.
• Leverage connections with industry to position the department as a leader in research and partnerships.
