About The Position

The Department Assistant at MarinHealth's Braden Diabetes Center plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals by performing routine clerical and secretarial duties. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred; completion of business school or related training is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year clerical or secretarial experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of modern office methods and procedures.
  • Accurate typing at 45 wpm.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse groups.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Basic familiarity with database management and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to operate standard business machines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EPIC software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone calls and provide standard information; screen calls and route them appropriately.
  • Act as departmental receptionist; respond to inquiries and provide information about departmental activities.
  • Prepare letters, memos, reports, and other documents from drafts or verbal instructions.
  • Access and enter data into automated systems; utilize spreadsheets and basic graphics applications.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and patient information and records.
  • Schedule meetings and appointments; attend meetings to take and distribute minutes.
  • Use standard office equipment and troubleshoot minor operating problems.
  • Perform related office duties such as sorting correspondence, ordering supplies, and processing invoices.
