About The Position
The Morongo Basin Healthcare District is seeking a part-time Dentist to provide comprehensive dental services to patients at two locations in Yucca Valley, CA. This role is essential in maintaining the oral health of the community and involves a variety of responsibilities that ensure high-quality patient care. As a Dentist, you will report directly to the Dental Clinic Manager and will be responsible for diagnosing oral health diseases, creating treatment plans, and performing various dental procedures. The position requires a commitment to quality patient care and the ability to communicate effectively with both patients and support staff. In this role, you will meet with patients to discuss their dental concerns and develop treatment plans tailored to their needs. You will be expected to order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as radiographs, and perform basic dental procedures including composite fillings, extractions, root canals, and crowns. Additionally, you will prescribe medications for dental issues and maintain detailed records of diagnoses, treatments rendered, and potential outcomes. The position also requires you to stay updated with the latest dental techniques and practices to ensure the best care for your patients. The physical demands of this position include the ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds occasionally, as well as the capacity to sit for long periods, spend extended time at a keyboard or telephone, and interact effectively with others. You may also be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as necessary. The role involves travel within the service area, which is an important aspect of providing care to the community.
