About The Position

Under supervision of the Dental Clinical Director, it provides clinical dental services to the Greater Brockton Area population with special emphasis on family dentistry.

Requirements

  • Requires a doctorate in dental medicine or surgery with a license to practice in Massachusetts.
  • One year of experience as a dental resident or practicing dentist.
  • Duties as a general dentist require the ability to perform according to accepted principles independent of supervision.
  • The individual must be in good health of mind and body with physical dexterity and vision suitable to accomplish the job duties outlined above.
  • Knowledge of proper patient transfer assistance is also required and the ability to lift as much as fifty pounds may be necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide education, screening, and preventive services to BNHC dental patients.
  • Provide all phases of general dentistry including oral diagnosis and treatment planning, radiology, restorative services prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, and basic oral surgical procedures.
  • Interact with other disciplines within the BNHC acting as a resource of information for other medical providers and social workers.
  • Provides education, screening and preventive services to BNHC dental patients of all ages, including vulnerable populations such as HIV-infected patients, homeless patients, diabetics and children.
  • Provide all phases of general dentistry including oral diagnosis and treatment planning, radiography, restorative services, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, and basic exodontia.
  • Conducts quarterly peer reviews and ensures compliance.
  • Interacts with other disciplines within BNHC providing a resource for other medical providers and social workers.
  • Maintains patient information within HIPAA.
  • Maintains a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers, patients, and external professional contacts.
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize demands, work with distractions, adapt to change, exercise efficient time management, and work independently.
  • Maintains appropriate chain of command.
  • Attending staff meetings is required.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor, staff, and management.
  • Participate in development of short range and long-range strategic planning of dental services and quality measures.
