About The Position

Come work with us at Philadelphia FIGHT's Community Health Centers! Our Dentists provide culturally competent, non-judgmental, high quality dental care to adult and pediatric patients. Well-qualified applicants are passionate about community health and understand the basics of harm-reduction and a trauma-informed approach to health care. We seek applicants with at least 1 year of post-training experience, who are motivated and can perform in high-demand environments. Spanish-speaking providers are always encouraged to apply. Philadelphia FIGHT's bread and butter is restorative extractions, removables and recall visits. We have a 3-shape scanner and 3-D printer for those looking to get more experience in digital dentistry. In the spirit of keeping up skills, FIGHT does allow providers to do limited crown and endo work as long as it is in support of the dental public health mission. About the Role: Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday (9:00 - 5:00PM). May occasionally require early mornings or extended evening hours as needed. Location: FIGHT Family Dentistry, 1207 Chestnut St, 4th Floor, Phila, PA 19107 Compensation & Benefits: FSLA status is exempt with an annual rate of $140-150K. 3 weeks of PTO (4 weeks after 1st year) + 11 paid holidays. Requirements

  • Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Must complete Philadelphia FIGHT's Credentialing and Privileging process as a D.D.S or D.M.D.
  • 1+ years of experience as a dentist preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in relevant dental practices, protocol, trends and best practices in clinical areas assigned.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of dental equipment needed to successfully treat patients.
  • Must possess basic computer skills to perform job duties including desktop computing, e-mail, time sheet management, reporting, internet research, etc. using relevant software such as HRIS and Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Experience with or knowledge of federal, state and local regulations and standards associated with the delivery of care in a community health center environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and success in effecting overall clinical operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and emergency situations successfully.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Strong skillsets in interpersonal relationships and teamwork, attention to detail, customer service, time management, autonomy and problem solving.
  • Discretion, initiative, and capacity to maintain HIPAA compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional advanced degree in public health, biomedical ethics or other related field of study preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the delivery of competent, accurate, and compassionate dental care to all patients assigned that meets or exceeds all measurable standards of care.
  • Ensures that dental procedures are consistent with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards, including clinic policies and quality initiatives.
  • Improves patient well-being through accurate and timely diagnosis and delivery of high quality general dental care.
  • Collaborates with the Dental Director to address patient and/or clinic issues or concerns; competently handles medical emergencies.
  • Utilizing de-escalation skills and cultural competence, practices excellent patient relations, including the resolution of patient issues.
  • Enthusiastically and patiently mentors dental students, dental hygiene students, and other interns/volunteers present at the clinic.
  • Assists with in-service and ongoing training of clinic staff.
  • Provides direct supervision of dental students, dental hygiene students, pre-dental students, and other students, volunteers and interns on site at Employee.
  • Delivers lectures and lead seminars as needed based on FIGHT needs.
  • Occasionally participates in FIGHT outreach/community events as required.
  • Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and appropriate confidentiality with patient charting and related recordkeeping and administrative functions as assigned.
  • Assists in reviewing clinic productivity, scheduling procedures, and establishing protocols for care and treatment.
  • Conducts research to maintain and improve professional and technical knowledge.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains compliance with infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.
  • Upholds and ensures compliance and attention to all FIGHT policies and procedures as well as the overall mission and values of the organization.

  • Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure - Category 1 Job classification includes ALL employees who have occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens (blood or body fluids) while performing their job duties.
