We are seeking an experienced Contract Dentist for a full-time locum contract opportunity within the IHS outpatient dental clinic. This position offers the opportunity to serve American Indian and Alaska Native patients in a collaborative, patient-focused clinical setting. Contract Details: Long-term Contract 12 months, with Extension Possibilities Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Outpatient Dental Clinic, Family clinic, working with all ages No Weekends | No Holidays | Day Shift Only 1099 Contract position Competitive compensation Excellent work-life balance Supportive, mission-driven work environment Opportunity to serve an underserved population Position Overview: The Dentist will provide comprehensive family dental care to both adult and pediatric patients. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating dental conditions, performing preventive and restorative procedures, maintaining accurate patient records, and educating patients on oral health and hygiene practices. The provider will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) required
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical dental experience
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted dental license from any U.S. state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory (any state license accepted)
  • Ability to obtain and pass Federal Security Clearance prior to start
  • Minimum of (2) years of experience as a dentist after dental school. (2) years of fellowship can count as this experience.
  • Minimum Education: DDS or DMD Degree from an Accredited Dental School Program, a doctorate is required
  • Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Applicants must have an active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action license as a Dentist in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
  • References must be submitted with the application
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to patient-centered care
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule
  • Must be a US citizen, primarily living in the USA
  • Must be willing to complete a federal background check
  • Willingness to comply with all state and federal regulations regarding medical practice

Nice To Haves

  • Locum tenens experience preferred
  • Previous IHS experience helpful but not required
