About The Position

NaphCare is hiring a Dentist to join their team of medical professionals at the Bullock Correctional Facility in Union Springs, AL. In this role, the Dentist will collaborate with correctional officers and other medical professionals to deliver dental care to incarcerated individuals. This unique position offers a variety of engaging duties within a controlled environment where security is paramount, providing an opportunity to positively impact a diverse patient population with complex medical and dental needs.

Requirements

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent
Valid dental license in the state where the facility is located
Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
Current DEA registration
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Technical skills in providing a full range of dental services
Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information, display integrity, professionalism, and adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

Experience in clinical dentistry and correctional settings preferred

Responsibilities

Diagnosing, treating, and providing preventative care for patients
Creating treatment plans and performing dental procedures, such as extractions and restorations
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices
Maintain accurate and detailed patient dental records
Collaborating with other medical professionals to ensure staff are responsive to patients’ oral health needs
