The St. Croix Tribe is seeking a Dentist to provide dental health services to a designated population in accordance with Indian Health Service and St. Croix Tribal Health Clinic Policies. The position involves working closely with the Dental Director to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the Tribal dental program. The Dentist will supervise facility dental staff in the absence of the Dental Director and will be responsible for implementing dental activities in line with the Tribal dental program. The role also includes advising the Dental Director on oral health matters, administering anesthetics, examining patients, writing prescriptions, and treating various dental conditions.

  • Provides dental health services to designated population in accordance with Indian Health Service and St. Croix Tribal Health Clinic Policies.
  • Assists the Dental Director in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Tribal dental program.
  • Supervises facility dental staff when the Dental Director is not present.
  • Implements facility dental activities in accordance with the Tribal dental program.
  • Advises the Dental Director on all matters pertaining to oral health.
  • Administers anesthetics to keep patients comfortable during procedures.
  • Acknowledges communications and submits required reports.
  • Uses masks, gloves, and safety glasses for protection against infectious diseases and reports any incidents of infection standards.
  • Examines teeth and gums using necessary dental equipment and x-rays to evaluate and plan treatment.
  • Writes prescriptions for required medication for patients.
  • Treats diseases of salivary glands and their ducts.
  • Performs dental care for patients with behavioral problems.
  • Informs patients about good dental health practices.
  • DDS or DMD from an accredited Dental program.
  • Current active WI License to practice Dentistry.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to write treatment plans.
  • Must submit to an Alcohol/Drug screen test.
  • Must be responsible and dependable.
