About The Position
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking dedicated dentists who are passionate about providing high-quality dental care to our inmate population. As a dentist at SCI Houtzdale, you will enjoy clinical autonomy and a balanced work-life schedule, with work hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and no evening, weekend, or on-call duties. This role allows you to collaborate with experienced auxiliary staff and receive exceptional managerial support, ensuring that you can focus on delivering the best dental care possible. In this role, you will supervise the daily operations of the dental staff and be responsible for all aspects of clinical dental services provided to the inmate population. Your responsibilities will include conducting periodic examinations, diagnosing oral diseases, and providing treatment for dental injuries. You will perform basic dental care and assist specialists in their treatment procedures while ensuring that adequate security and tool control measures are maintained within the dental office. Additionally, you will consult with and refer inmates to physicians, oral surgeons, and other healthcare professionals as necessary. The position also offers a competitive salary range of $152,372.00 to $190,945.00 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, generous paid time off, and an excellent retirement plan. The Commonwealth covers DEA license renewal and liability insurance, and you will be eligible for up to 50 hours of additional paid leave for job-related continuing medical education.
