CHCRR Dentist will diagnose and treat Oral conditions and pathology. Additionally, they will actively promote individual and population health. A sensibility for health maintenance and illness prevention is expected. CHCHRR is a primary healthcare organization. Dentists must be knowledgeable and skillful in the delivery of oral health care. Competent delivery includes the ability and willingness to continually participate in professional learning activities and advance dental understanding for all stakeholders. CHCRR Dentists are important assets to the oral health of their patients and their communities. This responsibility requires Dentists to be skillful problem solvers, critical thinkers and effective communicators. CHCRR Dentists will conduct their activities with a durable professionalism and confidentiality. CHCRR activities are compliant to HIPAA standards. CHCRR Dentists will work in a team environment. In this context, Dentists will be assigned responsibility for organizing, coordinating and supervising the professional activities of associated healthcare workers such as Dental Assistants, and Dental Hygienists. Good business sense is an asset. Dentists advocate for their patients and communities. The work at CHCRR is organized around patient needs.

  • Provide oral health services, advice and counsel to patients
  • Refer and communicate with medical/surgical consultants when appropriate
  • Work supported by appropriate clinical and administrative staff
  • Utilize clinical space, private office space, IT and decision-support tools
  • Organize work utilizing the designed EHR
  • Share in the weekday, evening, and weekend call responsibility
  • Collect and report clinical performance and work efficiency data
  • Support the strategic perspective of CHCRR as a learning organization
  • Occasionally work long and irregular hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Favorable completion of college, dental school, internship, residency, and possibly fellowship
  • Board Certification strongly recommended
  • Must be eligible for licensing by the State of Vermont
  • Knowledge and understanding of CHCRR policies and adherence to them
  • Knowledge of dental equipment and instruments for patient care
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions
  • Ability to maintain good professional relationships with patients, peers, staff, and administration
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to diagnose and treat disease and injury
  • Ability to manage individual and population health
