About The Position

Assist dental students in appropriate phases of their clinical and pre-clinical education. Contributes to dental student education alongside faculty, participating in pre-clinical and clinical courses.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited American Dental Association (ADA) Dental Technology program and one (1) year of related experience or High School diploma/GED and three (3) years of related experience.
  • Serve as a novice technology expert in order to assist faculty and students

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate crown and bridge work
  • Fabricate occlusal splints
  • Fabricate dentures from impression to insert
  • Complete prosthetic repairs, relines, and re-bases
  • Assist students with set up of teeth, wax rims, final molds and fabrications in the lab. Provides these services as a lab technician.
  • Show students how to engage implant abutments and fabricate surgical guide.
  • Assist with dentures set ups and polishing.
  • Collaborate with other technician educators to troubleshoot problems.
  • Inspect equipment and request repairs or upgrades when necessary.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of laboratory exercises to be performed by dental students, residents and faculty.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the dental team to provide exceptional patient care
