Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Valid CPR/BLS certification
Minimum of 1 year of chairside dental assisting experience (required | oral surgery preferred)
Excellent communication skills and calm presence in surgical environments
A team-oriented mindset with high attention to detail

Nice To Haves

Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assistant program (preferred)
Oral Surgery Assistant Certification (preferred)
DANB, ICE, RHS certifications (state-dependent)

Responsibilities

Prepare surgical rooms, instruments, and patient charts in advance of procedures
Assist chairside during oral surgery procedures including sedation, extractions, and implant placements
Monitor and update patient vitals, comfort, and post-op recovery instructions
Sterilize and maintain instruments following strict surgical protocols
Coordinate inventory of surgical supplies and track implant materials
Support the surgeon and anesthesia team with setup and procedural assistance
Provide detailed pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers
Maintain electronic records, chart treatment notes, and assist with digital imaging as needed
