About The Position

The following position is for employment with: Oral Surgery Services 4420 Conlin St, Suite 203, Metairie, LA 70006 250 Ochsner Blvd #104, Gretna, LA 70056 Floating position - ideal candidate will provide essential coverage between Metairie & Gretna practices. POSITION PURPOSE We are seeking a compassionate, organized and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our oral surgery team. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for our patients from the moment they schedule their appointment to the completion of their visit. The role will own the process of managing patient treatment plans and discussing associated fees, relieving the surgeon from discussing these details with patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for patient care and the ability to remain organized while managing multiple administrative tasks efficiently. Key responsibilities include educating patients on treatment choices and proactively keeping our Surgeon's schedules productive. As a Patient Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in making each patient feel seen, heard, and supported. This position is a great opportunity for learning and growth. Requirements

  • Reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential
  • Genuinely serve our patients at every level, enhancing patient satisfaction and increasing office efficiency
  • Positively influence patients, coworkers, referring offices, and the practice as a whole.
  • Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in medical billing/insurance is required, 2 years Dental experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental/medical practice management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with patients and team members.
  • Willingness to take on other duties as assigned and adapt to the evolving needs of the practice.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in medical billing/insurance is required, 2 years Dental experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Present treatment plans to patients, explaining procedures and associated fees.
  • Assist patients with financing and payment arrangements to ensure affordability and compliance.
  • Schedule returning patients for follow-up treatments and appointments.
  • Verify insurance coverage, send claims, post payments, and manage collections.
  • Oversee patient accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
  • Manage front office tasks occasionally, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Work closely with other professionals to form a highly effective team, attending to the administrative tasks of the office.
