About The Position

Position Summary The Laboratory Floater provides cross-functional support across multiple departments, primarily assisting with case intake, packaging and shipping, and transportation of cases to and from dental offices. This role is essential in maintaining efficient workflow, ensuring accurate case handling, and supporting timely deliveries.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous dental laboratory, dental office, courier, or shipping experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receive and log incoming cases, ensuring prescriptions, impressions, and digital files are complete and properly documented
  • Prepare cases for production by labeling, organizing, and routing to the appropriate department
  • Package completed cases securely for delivery or shipment, verifying accuracy and quality prior to dispatch
  • Coordinate outgoing shipments, including printing labels, preparing courier documentation, and tracking deliveries
  • Perform scheduled pickup and delivery routes to dental offices while maintaining professionalism and timeliness
  • Maintain chain-of-custody awareness to ensure case security and proper handling during transport
  • Assist with organizing intake areas, shipping stations, and case storage to support workflow efficiency
  • Support other departments as needed during high-volume periods or staffing gaps
  • Communicate delivery updates, delays, or case concerns to the appropriate team members
  • Follow laboratory safety, cleanliness, and infection control protocols
