About The Position

The Dental Hygienist position works with the dentist and dental team to meet the oral health needs of patients by performing patient screenings, taking dental x rays, providing dental cleanings, performing clinical documentation, counseling patients on oral hygiene instruction and nutrition. Treat an underserved community in a patient care focused setting! HealthNet provides dedicated appointment time to each patient. 45 minutes for prophylaxis 1 hour for perio maintenance 1 hour per quadrant of SRP Additional time provided for dental exams and x-rays

Requirements

  • New Grads are encouraged to apply!
  • Currently not sponsoring for work visa.
  • Requires graduation from an accredited school of dental hygiene and license to practice dental hygiene in the State of Indiana.
  • Eligible to obtain license in state of Indiana.
  • CPR certification – can be obtained after employment.
  • Local Anesthetic preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of medical problems/diagnosis that may necessitate antibiotic pre-medication.
  • Detailed knowledge of the anatomy of the mouth and teeth.
  • Recognize the need for various x-ray's for review by the dentist.
  • Requires ability to work independently.
  • Requires strong organization skills.
  • Self-directed/Self-motivated.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have good eyesight with or without correction (20/30).
  • Ability to experience repeated and prolonged standing, walking, sitting, bending, and squatting is required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and or pull equipment, light to moderately heavy weight is required.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Must be able to read, write, hear, and communicate effectively in the English language by both orally and written.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
