About The Position

Bedi Dental Group is seeking a highly-skilled and motivated Dental Hygienist to join our established practice. Our ideal candidates accept a high level of responsibility and working with Dentists to create treatment plans so they can more efficiently care for patients, with duties such as cleaning teeth, taking X-rays, examining oral health, applying preventative agents and maintaining patient records. Requirements

  • State licensure to practice Dental Hygiene, and meet all applicable state requirements.
  • Must have completed at least 2 years of post-secondary education from an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Experience providing prophylaxis and taking X-rays.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists and coworkers.
  • Strong computer skills (List of specific dental software(s) previously worked with).
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff.
  • Leading with compassion and a commitment to the full patient care experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Eaglesoft and/or Dentrix knowledge is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing hygiene treatment to patients.
  • Review daily schedule with the patient care coordinator for hygiene patients.
  • Review patient health and dental history forms and update as necessary.
  • Perform scaling.
  • Root planning and selective polishing for patients as appropriate.
  • Polish restorations.
  • Take radiographs of patients as prescribed by dentist.
  • Gather and review patient charts for the day.
  • Maintain a supply inventory for hygiene treatments.
  • Maintain treatment room to ensure cleanliness and sterilization per OSHA regulations.
  • Apply cavity-preventative agents, such as fluorides and sealants.
  • Accurately and appropriately record provided treatments.
  • Teach proper oral hygiene techniques to patients.
  • Counsel patients on oral health and nutrition.
