Requirements

  • 1+ years of practical experience as a dental hygienist.
  • Registered Dental Hygienist License in PA.
  • Local Anesthesia license (required).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Experience with medical imaging techniques, such as intraoral and extraoral x-rays.
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills and be a team player.
  • Commitment to being punctual and reporting to work on time.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the desire for professional growth.
  • Be organized and possess a superior knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining patient medical records, updating patient medical history, and vital signs as needed.
  • Conducting complete patient X-ray procedures, including taking, developing, and storing X-Rays as necessary.
  • Completing periodontal charting as directed.
  • Preparing tools and equipment necessary for the Provider and assisting the Provider with exams as necessary.
  • Performing preventative periodontal care on patients, including scaling, prophylaxis, root planing, and the application of preventative agents and sealants.
  • Performing expanded functions, such as placing and carving amalgam and composite restorations, applying cavity liners, and placing/removing temporary crowns.
  • Providing anesthetic for preps for the doctor.
  • Administering local anesthesia and nitrous oxide analgesia as necessary.
  • Working in tandem with the doctors to carry one column of restorative work each day.
