About The Position
CareSTL Health is seeking a Dental Hygienist to join our team! The Dental Hygienist is committed to serving through strong team leadership the improvement of the oral health and habits of our community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Dental Hygienist may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons.
Requirements
- Must have either a certificate or Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited school of Dental Hygiene
- Must have a current license issued by the State of Missouri
- 1-4 yrs experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact required
Responsibilities
- Assess patient’s present oral condition, provide oral cancer screen and periodontal assessment.
- Scale and polish teeth.
- Provide periodontal evaluation and deep cleaning if required.
- Provide caries risk assessment and determine patient’s health risk behaviors including tobacco usage and alcohol consumption.
- Provide detailed oral health care instructions to include appropriate age education and behavior counseling.
- Conduct dental health promotional programs, and disease screenings, distribute appropriate health promotion literature
