About The Position

Dental Hygienists provide direct patient care and responsibilities include screening patients during checkups, reviewing/ updating a patient's dental history, providing home care instructions to improve a patient's oral health, providing preventive dental care services like dental sealants and fluoride treatments, taking x-rays and reviewing them for signs of dental disease.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Dental Association
• Successful completion of Dental Hygiene National Board
• Successful completion of Dental Hygiene SRTA exam
• Licensed through Virginia Board of Dentistry
• Ability to perform scaling and root debridement
• Maintain CPR certification for all life cycles
• Maintain 15 hours of state required continued education credits
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication, teamwork, and computer skills
• Excellent internal and external customer service skills
• Understanding of standards, guidelines, and protocols related to certifications
• Personal professional commitment to the mission of Eastern Shore Rural Health System

Responsibilities
