About The Position
Endodontic & Periodontic Associates, a well-established dental specialty group, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team in Joliet, IL. This position can be filled on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the candidate's availability. The primary responsibility of the Dental Hygienist will be to perform high-quality and efficient dental hygiene procedures, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. This includes conducting patient screenings, maintaining accurate medical history information, and performing thorough periodontal charting. The Hygienist will also be responsible for routine examinations of the head, neck, and oral cavity for any signs of disease, utilizing various tools such as probes, Cavitron, hand scalers, and polishing equipment to maintain optimal oral health. All findings will be meticulously recorded in the patient’s record, and the Hygienist will work to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with patients. Specific duties include reviewing patient charts for the day, providing hygiene care, administering local anesthetics when necessary, and taking full-mouth radiographs at required intervals. The Hygienist will also instruct patients on home care tools and techniques, refer patients to the Periodontist for further evaluation when needed, and ensure that future recall appointments are scheduled. Additionally, the Hygienist will be responsible for sending periodic periodontal progress reports to the dentist, performing suture removals, and returning calls from patients and general dentists in a timely manner. Attendance at seminars and other assigned duties will also be part of the role, contributing to the Hygienist's professional development and the overall success of the practice.
