About The Position

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene.
  • Licensed Dental Hygienist - PA State Board of Dentistry.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform external and internal oral evaluations and record comprehensive periodontal and restorative dental charting.
  • Perform prophylactic treatment and provide services including placement of sub-gingival agents, periodontal probing, scaling, root planning, and full mouth debridement.
  • Administer pain control agents such as topical anesthetic and local anesthesia as permitted.
  • Apply caries preventative agents including topical fluoride trays and varnish, dental sealants, and desensitizing agents.
  • Expose and process dental radiographs.
  • Provide patient education and home care protocols.
  • Complete new medical questionnaire annually and update medical health history.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and disinfect dental equipment.
  • Maintain general operatory and clinic maintenance.
  • Monitor expiration dates on supplies.
  • Maintain current professional license and technical skills.
  • Attend and participate in appropriate monthly meetings.
  • Monitor own schedules and communicate with scheduling pod.
  • Assist in other areas as appropriate and respond to patient questions and concerns.
