About The Position

The Dental Hygiene Program Director at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Dental Hygiene program at the Modesto campus. This role includes managing instructors, ensuring student academic success, and maintaining compliance with school policies and accreditation standards. The director will also be involved in curriculum design, program administration, and student evaluations to ensure high educational standards are met.

Requirements

• Master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 3 years of direct Dental Hygiene experience.
• Active dental or dental hygiene license with no disciplinary actions.
• Two years of experience teaching in dental hygiene or dental programs.
• Minimum of 2,000 hours in direct patient care as a registered dental hygienist.
• Knowledge of the educational process at other institutions.
• Proficient in curriculum design, program administration, evaluation, instruction, and academic advising.
• Experience interfacing with clinical personnel at Director or Department Head levels.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day delivery of the Dental Hygiene program meets school policy guidelines.
• Manage and oversee all instructors in their didactic, clinical, and laboratory roles.
• Monitor student academic management to ensure acceptable pass rates and licensure exam outcomes.
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress and assign appropriate tutoring support.
• Keep student marks, attendance, and remediation documentation up to date.
• Conduct instructor evaluations and educational in-service plans.
• Set goals and manage reprimands for instructors.
