About The Position

College Park Dental is seeking a Dental Hygienist Assistant in College Park, Maryland, to join their clinical team. As a Dental Hygiene Assistant, you will be an integral part of the care team, providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience to be considered.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (Required)
  • Associate or certification in Dental Assisting (Required)
  • Radiology certification (Required)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient care and comfort

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization
  • Assist Dental Hygienists during patient treatment progress
  • Update patient health history and chart treatment progress
  • Expose and develop radiographs (if certified)
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to manage inventory and sterilization of dental instruments
  • Support the hygienist with patient scheduling and treatment recommendations and office recall systems
  • Perform routine tasks while ensuring compliance with the industry regulations including HIPAA & OSHA
