About The Position

The Dental Hygienist at Bond Community Health Center is a prevention-focused oral health professional responsible for providing educational, clinical, research, administrative, and therapeutic services to promote optimal oral health. This role involves assessing patients' oral health, developing treatment plans, and performing clinical procedures to support overall health.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited dental hygienist school.
• Florida license to practice dental hygiene.
• Current CPR (BLS) certifications; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum of three years clinical experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of public health principles and practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Assess patients' oral tissues and overall health to determine disease presence or risks.
• Develop dental hygiene diagnoses and formulate patient-centered treatment care plans.
• Perform clinical procedures such as plaque removal, dental X-rays, and applying cavity-preventive agents.
• Examine individuals requesting care and direct appropriate dental treatment or referrals.
• Educate individuals on oral health conditions and disease prevention.
• Serve on dental staff and center committees as assigned.
• Assist in providing technical assistance and health education to the community.
• Participate in program planning for the Dental Department.
