About The Position

Neighborhood Health Centers of the Lehigh Valley is currently seeking a full-time Spanish speaking Patient Services Representative with Dental experience to join our team! The Patient Service Representative's (PSR) primary purpose is to perform tasks related to efficient and effective patient flow in the clinic and assisting NHCLV patients in accessing and paying for NHCLV or other services. Duties include assisting dental, nursing, and provider staff with administrative support related to daily patient visits including phone calls, faxing and/or scanning to ensure immediate access to all information required for the patient visit, including complete registration and insurance or sliding fee discount program information. Following the patient visit, the PSR supports the patient in making internal and external appointments, including completing non-complex referrals and/or obtaining related pre-authorizations or completing other insurance-related processes as required for their individual care plan. The PSR must maintain confidentiality of patient information, conduct her/himself in a professional and friendly manner, strictly follow all NHCLV policies, and work cooperatively and supportively with all other staff.

Requirements

  • High School education or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years dental front office and/or combined with medical business office experience.
  • Spanish/English bilingual strongly preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work accurately and efficiently in a busy office situation.
  • Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot customer issues.
  • Computer literate - knowledge of office MS Office programs.
  • Employee must be able to work hours as scheduled, which may include Saturdays, evenings or extended hours.
  • Ability to work in a team oriented atmosphere.
  • Honest, courteous and professional manner providing excellent customer service.
  • Reliable transportation is needed for the ability to work at multiple sites if needed.
  • Employment clearances and vaccinations are required for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Dental Assistant training/certification preferred.
