The Dental Director serves as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality dental care across CAMcare’s dental program. This position ensures compliance with all clinical, regulatory, and accreditation requirements while driving quality improvement initiatives and supporting the professional growth of dental staff. The Dental Director provides both administrative leadership and direct patient care, balancing clinical practice with management responsibilities.

  • Provide leadership and supervision for all dental providers and staff, including recruitment, training, evaluation, and professional development.
  • Oversee all aspects of clinical operations in the dental department, ensuring adherence to HRSA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs to support high standards of care.
  • Deliver direct patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive services, while modeling best practices in evidence-based dentistry.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and other senior leaders to align dental services with organizational goals and community needs.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA standards, and all state and federal regulations governing dental practice.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics (UDS, HEDIS, and internal benchmarks) to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in community outreach, education, and engagement initiatives to promote oral health awareness.
  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Current New Jersey dental license and DEA registration required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in an FQHC or community health setting.
  • Strong knowledge of HRSA requirements, UDS reporting, and quality improvement in a dental program.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
