About The Position

The Dental Clinical Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the performance of the clinical team while also performing limited dental assisting duties. This role involves hiring, training, supervising, and managing the clinical staff, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and fostering communication between the team and upper management. The coordinator also monitors clinical operations, manages budgets, and resolves conflicts within the team.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in a dental office setting; preferred four years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 5-8 clinical team members while performing overflow dental assisting duties.
  • Hire, motivate, develop, and support clinical staff.
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new hires and identify ongoing education needs.
  • Ensure all clinical team members are HIPAA trained.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and vacation requests for the team.
  • Run monthly clinical trainings and ensure compliance with supply and lab budgets.
  • Fill in KPI scorecard weekly and develop action plans for areas needing improvement.
  • Handle clinical problems and report to the Owner.
  • Observe and evaluate team performance to ensure quality service and compliance with policies.
  • Issue corrective coaching as needed to maintain practice standards.
  • Supervise HIPAA, OSHA, and policy compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate patient record entries.
  • Make recommendations for terminations and attend termination meetings.
  • Resolve conflicts within the clinical team and respond to inquiries from Doctors/Owner.
  • Analyze protocols and recommend changes to improve clinical operations.
  • Set and monitor goals for the clinical team.
