About The Position

Candidates should possess strong content knowledge as well as a desire to teach and work with young adults. MA Dept of Elementary and Secondary Education Chapter 74 license in Dental Assisting and/or teaching experience preferred. Non-licensed applicants applying may be eligible for a one-year waiver to complete Preliminary License requirements, providing that they can pass a CORI and fingerprint background checks, have an Associate degree or higher related to the subject matter and skills to be taught, possess at least four years full-time work experience related to dental assisting and possess required dental assisting certification. Cape Cod Tech, located in Harwich MA, offers robust, hands-on technical education to high school students living in a twelve-town district. Students obtain industry certifications and credentials as well as the their high school diploma to prepare for careers and college. The school building is only two years old and has a state of the art learning environment. Come join our faculty and help grow the next generation of industry professionals! Salary will be pro-rated and will follow all contractual stipulations.- The DA program is a highly rigorous and collaborative teaching and learning environment. Expectations are that the selected candidate must have strengths in these areas in order to best support student learning and outcomes. Chapter 74 teaching candidates typically take and pass MA Vocational Literacy Test and Chapter 74 written and practical exams in Dental Assisting within first year of hire in order to obtain Preliminary Teaching License. Within five years of employment at Cape Cod Tech, candidates with a Preliminary License complete 7 technical education training courses in order to obtain Professional teaching licensure.
