About The Position

Heartland Technical Education Center 1763 State Route 60 Ashland, OH 44805 Adult Education Dental Assisting Instructor Qualifications: Valid state department of education license/certificate as determined at the time of appointment. Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators. Anticipates time constraints. Manages tasks efficiently to meet deadlines. Communicates effectively. Interprets information accurately and initiates effective responses. Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures. Embodies high ethical standards and integrity. Accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct. Exhibits consistency, resourcefulness and resilience. Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. Meets all mandated health screening requirements. Duties: 1. Teaches assigned classes/subject matter as scheduled. Plans, organizes and implements appropriate lesson plans aligned with state standards/district curriculum goals. Identifies prerequisite employment skills and profiles essential training characteristics. Assists with program planning and curriculum development. Develops course syllabus. Ensures program compliance with all required criteria to maintain accreditations/charters. Recommends class schedules based on enrollment demand and equipment/classroom availability. Collaborates with public/private entities. Seeks opportunities to participate in joint training ventures. Coordinates arrangements with employers to provide on-site training opportunities with externships or internships. Communicates program objectives/performance expectations to students. Maintains a thorough understanding of subject matter and pedagogy. Organizes subject content and learning goals. Prepares instructional materials. Arranges the classroom for instruction. Evaluates academic needs of students. Develops effective educational experiences that engage and stimulate student learning. Varies instructional techniques to address student learning styles. 2. Exemplifies professionalism that advances the district’s public image. Contributes to an effective and positive work/learning environment. Develops mutually respectful relationships with co-workers. Functions as part of a cohesive team. Follows district and department Employee Codes of Conduct. Encourages the continuous advancement of academic standards. Helps students understand/embrace ethical conduct and democratic values. Maintains a professional appearance. 3. Maintains open/effective communications. 4. Pursues opportunities to enhance professional performance. 5. Takes precautions to ensure safety. 6. Performs other specific job-related duties as directed. Contract: SY 2025-2026 contract one-year limited contracts, with salary per the Adult Education Salary Schedule, weekly hours per the Adult Education Director and not to exceed 29, no benefits, and no holidays.
