Requirements

• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and procedures.
• Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
• Experience with dental coding for insurance purposes is a plus.
• Knowledge of Dentrix dental practice management software is preferred.
• Understanding of general dentistry practices and procedures.
• At least five years experience is advantageous.
• Ability to take accurate X-rays while following safety guidelines.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance regarding patient information confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all supplies are stocked.
• Take and develop X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.
• Handle administrative tasks such as filing medical records, managing insurance claims, and processing payments.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a smooth workflow within the practice.
