As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the dentist during various dental procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing treatment rooms and ensuring that all dental instruments are properly sterilized before use. You will also be tasked with taking and developing dental x-rays, which are essential for diagnosing and planning treatment for patients. Providing patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care will be a key part of your role, ensuring that patients understand how to maintain their oral health after procedures. In addition to assisting during procedures, you will perform patient assessments, which include taking vital signs and gathering medical history to ensure that the dentist has all necessary information before treatment. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records is vital for patient care and compliance with health regulations. You will also assist with dental lab work, which may involve pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns, as well as performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and handling billing. This position requires a certification as a Dental Assistant and experience in dental assisting, particularly with a preference for candidates who have experience with Dentrix software. Strong patient assessment skills, proficiency in CAD software for dental prosthetics, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, along with a keen attention to detail in medical documentation, will be critical for success in this role. This is a temporary position to cover for maternity leave, and it is expected that the candidate will relocate to Beavercreek, OH before starting work.
