About the position

Cross Lavinder Quinn & Park Dentistry is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our clinical team and support our offices in Daleville, Vinton, and Roanoke, VA. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction. As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Join a team that believes in teamwork and truly cares about their patients. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience to be considered. Office Days: Monday thru Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
  • Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Requirements

  • Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
  • 1 year or more on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation).
  • X-Ray certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Nice-to-haves

  • Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
