About the position
Cross Lavinder Quinn & Park Dentistry is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our clinical team and support our offices in Daleville, Vinton, and Roanoke, VA. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction. As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
- Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
- Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
- Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
Requirements
- Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
- 1 year or more on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation).
- X-Ray certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
