JOB SUMMARY The Dental Assistant provides exemplary patient care and assists dentists during examination and treatment of patients. This position also prepares clinical areas, instruments, and materials, provides imaging services, and utilizes four-handed dentistry . This position involves periodontal charting and instructs patients in oral hygiene and have a firm grasp of dental procedures. The Dental Assistant will p rofessionally communicate with the Dental Assistant team, faculty, and residents, while providing exemplary patient care.

• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Ability to operate dental equipment
• Ability to provide imaging services
• Ability to maintain infection control and sterilization of dental equipment
• Abil ity to maint ain pati ent confidentiality in ac cordance with HIPP A policy
• High School Diploma or the equivalent
• Six months of experience or training as a dental assistant

• Performs other duties as assigned
