General Purpose: In an effort to allow for the best patient care results, the Dental Assistant primarily assists Dentists with primary patient care services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Dental assistant certification, EDDA preferred.
  • Active BLS Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working as a dental assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists dentist with treatment and care of dental patients
  • Offers chairside assistance to dentists for patient care services and other dental procedures
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for patients upon introduction and entry to the dental clinic
  • Provides dual customer service efforts to the dentist and to dental patients
  • Expected to have dental set-up ready when dentist enters room
  • Performs special treatment procedures in the areas of Pedodontic, Endodontic, Prosthetic, Periodontic dentistry
  • Sterilizes and prepares all dental instruments, equipment, and other materials for daily use
  • Completes daily spore tests, cleaning, x-ray processing equipment, and dental evacuation traps
  • Capable of disinfecting and pouring impressions
  • Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as assigned.
