About The Position

Centurion is proud to be the provider of dental services to the Florida Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team at Wakulla Correctional Institution- Annex located in Crawfordville, Florida. The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or 12 months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
• Certified Dental Assistant license and/or Expanded Dental Assistant Certificate or ability to obtain one required within first 6 months of employment
• Florida Radiograph Certificate, or ability to obtain one required within the first 6 months of employment
• Certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or willing to obtain one upon hire
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Nice To Haves

• Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation preferred, or willing to obtain one upon hire

Responsibilities

• Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
• Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
• Operating radiographic equipment
• Administrative tasks as needed
