About The Position
Part Time, Day Shift, Friday, Monday, Tuesday $24/hour Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team at Kewanee Life Skills Re-Entry Center in Kewanee, Illinois. The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Essential duties include the following: Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory Operating radiographic equipment Administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
- Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required
- Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
- Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
- Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
Nice To Haves
- Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred
- Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
