The Dental Services Assistant provides clinical assistance to the dental staff with functions related to providing comprehensive patient treatment.

  • Assists in preparing the Clinic to receive patients.
  • Assists the Dentist in all procedures, requiring four-handed dentistry, assists Dentist in recording patient date in the EMR system.
  • Provides operatory equipment maintenance through proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of all equipment and instruments.
  • As necessary, maintains inventory and submits supply orders to Clinical Lead.
  • Assists in the training of new dental assistant staff, regarding operations and procedures.
  • Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPR/BLS certified required. If not CPR/BLS certified, must be certified within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of one year hands-on dental assisting experience preferred
  • PA x-ray certification preferred.
  • Certification from accredited Dental Assisting Program preferred.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.
