Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our growing team. This role requires X-ray certification and a strong foundation in chairside assisting. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to clinical excellence. This individual will support the dentist during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and contribute to a positive, efficient clinical environment. A strong team mindset, professionalism, and a desire for continuous growth are essential. This role also plays a key role in fostering a unified, well-trained team through knowledge sharing and leadership by example.

Requirements

X-ray certification required
2+ years of chairside dental assisting experience preferred
2+ years of Dentrix experience preferred
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, materials, and workflows
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
A team-oriented professional with a positive attitude
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality care
A proactive, dependable individual who takes initiative

Responsibilities

Model and uphold the core values of Loving Family Dental
Act as a positive representative of the practice in behavior, communication, and professionalism
Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative culture
Take high-quality radiographs
Fabricate temporaries and take accurate impressions
Assist chairside across a variety of procedures, anticipating doctor and team needs
Place sealants and pack retraction cord (including proper use of Traxodent)
Monitor and record vital signs
Select shades and assist with crown adjustments
Perform in-office whitening and fabricate whitening trays
Maintain accurate and detailed charting of existing and recommended treatments
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and universal precautions
Manage and communicate schedule flow, alerting the front office to delays or changes
Maintain operatory readiness, including stocking and sterilization
Demonstrate strong knowledge of dental materials and equipment, including CEREC systems
Support team members proactively during downtime
Greet and seat patients promptly and professionally
Provide a comfortable and positive clinical experience
Build strong rapport and trust with patients
Communicate clearly and effectively with patients and team members
Maintain efficient workflow and anticipate next steps to stay on schedule
Maintain thorough and accurate patient records using the S.O.A.P. method
Review and update medical histories with each patient
Provide oral hygiene instructions (OHI) and post-operative instructions (POI)
Ensure all lab cases and specifications are properly documented
Accurately document referrals and treatment recommendations
