Requirements

  • Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of professional dental assisting experience
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to infection control standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Compassionate patient care approach and excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Nitrous oxide sedation monitoring certification
  • Prophy and sealant certificates
  • Experience with digital dental practice management software

Responsibilities

  • Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dentists and dental hygienists during procedures and examinations
  • Maintain efficient patient flow and optimize the doctor's schedule to minimize wait times and enhance patient satisfaction
  • Expose and process diagnostic radiographs with precision and accuracy
  • Review and verify patient medical and dental health histories, document medications, assess clinical implications, and record vital signs in patient charts
  • Sterilize instruments and equipment following each patient and maintain a clean, organized treatment room and sterilization area
  • Document treatment plans, record clinical findings, input treatment charges, and obtain all necessary treatment consents in patient records
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions as directed by the dentist
  • Apply fluoride protective coatings and assist hygienists with polishing procedures for pediatric patients
  • Fabricate temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary molds
  • Perform routine weekly and monthly equipment maintenance, including running lines and changing traps
  • Monitor inventory levels, communicate supply needs to the lead assistant or manager, and maintain well-stocked treatment rooms
  • Track laboratory cases, manage outgoing documentation, monitor delivery dates, and coordinate with the schedule for case delivery appointments
  • Uphold all infection control policies and protocols to protect patients and team members
