About The Position

Dental Assistant Paid Training Opportunity: Exciting opportunity to learn new skills and be paid at the same time. HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc. is offering a full-time, in person, paid Dental Assistant training program which includes both classroom and clinical training thanks to a workforce pipeline fund. Classes offered virtually through CareerStep will prepare a learner to earn a Massachusetts Dental Assistant license. Hands-on training days will provide opportunities for observing as well as learning to prepare for dental procedures, maintaining and updating patient charts, and assisting with dentistry techniques. Participants must commit to 10 weeks of in-person paid course work and a 6-month paid internship to be completed at HealthFirst. Upon acceptance into the program, students will be required to sign a 2-year work commitment. Candidates must submit a resume that includes a brief statement explaining why you are interested in becoming a dental assistant. Note: Successful completion of the program and internship does not guarantee employment.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must submit a resume that includes a brief statement explaining why you are interested in becoming a dental assistant
  • Provide 3 references and possess a clear background free of criminal offenses
  • The Dental Assistant trainee must have a high level of customer service and a positive approach to working with patients.
  • Projects a positive attitude about the department and the health center and offers services to ensure positive experience
  • Ability to maintain an organized work area and work collaboratively as a member of a team
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and time management skills to effectively communicate with patients
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner and in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Work well under pressure to manage stressful situations
  • Use sound judgment and display confidence
  • Ability to multi- task
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Able to sit at a computer for an extended period of time
