Work with a dedicated and caring organization and start doing your life's best work. We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant in White River Junction, VT. Pay: $25.00 per hour. (1099) Location: VA Medical Center White River Junction, VT. 163 Veterans Dr. White River Junction, VT 05001. Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00am-5:30pm.

Requirements

  • Must have a current, unrestricted registration as a dental assistant in the state of Vermont.
  • Have at least one year of creditable experience practicing as a full-time dental assistant (recent VA dental clinic experience preferred).
  • Successful completion of the Dental Radiation Health and Safety Examination administered by the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc.; OR (b) Successful completion of the Principles and Practice of Dental Radiology and Radiographic Safety courses and examinations developed by the Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Dentistry. OR (c) Successful completion of a radiation health and safety program or examination approved by a state board of dentistry or the Department of Defense DoD).
  • Must possess a current unrestricted driver's license in the United States and ability to drive a mobile dental clinic (commercial driver's license not required).

Responsibilities

  • Perform chairside dental assistant duties for all phases of dentistry.
  • Responsible for assisting the dentist and dental hygienist by preparing patients and instruments for dental treatment, measure and record vital signs, adjust treatment as needed to account for age specific needs of geriatric patients, and operate dental x-ray equipment, including evaluating images for diagnostic quality and utilizing dental imaging safety techniques.
  • Responsible for receiving and routing patients, recording information related to patient care, and providing patients with education material and proper verbal and written instructions related to their care.
  • Assist with electronic health/dental records, updating charts and treatment notes and lab prescriptions as requested by the dentist or dental hygienist.
  • Support clinic operations and patient workflows for the dentist and dental hygienist.
